Why isn't it all free?
Every story Hazel Reads creates is unique — generated on the fly by AI models that cost money each time they run. Illustrations cost extra on top of that. We're not trying to get rich; we just need to cover the token costs so the app doesn't bankrupt a side project.
The free tier is real — no credit card, no trial countdown. Five stories to start and one new credit each week is enough to build a reading habit. Re-reads are always free. Plus is there for families whose kids want new stories every day, and Story Packs let you grab a few extra whenever you want.
